The home is on a stone foundation, and therefore, can get humid in the basement. We have a de-humidifier in the basement next to the laundry set, and it's super important that guests leave this alone. We do provide laundry detergent for your use.

We do provide window AC to help cool the home. AC is a seasonal amenity. If booking between the months of October and May, please inquire if AC is a required amenity for your stay.

We do have recording devices on the outside of the home, front and back, for safety and security. These cameras do record video and sound, but we respect guest privacy so we only look at the cameras if an issue arises during or after your stay. The front camera is a Ring door bell at the front door and faces away from the home. The back camera is on the house facing the alley. No cameras are mounted in, nor do they face/record any private, guest-only areas.

We do require guests to e-sign a vacation rental agreement for stays of any length prior to check in. We request guests fill out a check-in form so that we can best prepare for your stay.

Non-Airbnb Guests: Guests give permission to the property manager to use a third-party to request to screen identity and check criminal databases to confirm reservation. Complete terms regarding the guest screening can be provided by the property manager. You will receive an email to complete your screening. Please check your spam inbox for this email and contact the property manager if you have any questions.

This is an incredible, older home with quirks about which prospective guests should be aware. With the exception of the bathroom, it features all-original wooden windows. One window in the primary bedroom is currently painted shut. All other non-picture windows do open, providing lots of opportunity for fresh air, but should not be forced open/shut if they stick. If you encounter problems, please let us know.

Another attribute of this home is its stone foundation. A de-humidifier is connected to run full-time and ensure this is a pleasant space to work out in or to do laundry. We do provide laundry detergent for your use.

Neighbors on both sides have pets and, therefore, the animals may cause some noise now and then. Please be aware of barking.

This is a hugely pet-friendly neighborhood. Neighbors on both sides have dogs and the potential for barking exists. It is also a wildlife corridor—you may see deer, turkeys, or other creatures during your stay!

We charge $20 per night for the first pet, and $15 per night for additional pets
Pet fees are nonrefundable and will be requested through the resolution center after the reservation is confirmed and prior to your stay. Pet fees must be paid prior to check in or your door code will not function at the time of check in.

The backyard is large and private, with plenty of room for play, hanging out, and relaxing. During your stay, there may be an ever-evolving green space that is intentionally left “wild”-- including native plants and wild flowers. We hope you'll consider this wildlife section of the land intentional and worthy of viewing and respecting, and not a forgotten section of our yard maintenance.

While most reservations go through without a hitch, we understand that sometimes things happen. We want to offer our guests the best and most price-effective option for those incidents that we hope do not occur. We found that damage deposits can be costly, frustrating and we don't want to hold any of your hard-earned money 'just in case'.
For Airbnb reservations: We do not charge a damage deposit on site because Airbnb offers AirCover.
For non-Airbnb reservations: We charge a nightly fee for damage insurance in lieu of charging a damage deposit. This fee is nonrefundable and should be added to your reservation at checkout. If it is not, we will contact you to process payment for this charge. This fee pays for protection through a third-party company and covers property damage that may occur during your stay.

After booking confirmation, you have the option to purchase third-party travel insurance for up to 14 days prior to your stay. Please reach out via message if you're interested in travel insurance.

Airbnb does their own guest screening and we do ours.
For non-Airbnb reservations, we use a quick and simple third party guest screening service. Please watch for this email and complete the appropriate steps. Message/call us if you encounter any problems or have questions about this service. We require non-Airbnb guests to submit documents to verify identity and perform background screening, which occurs through a third-party company to Safely. Cancellation policy applies to reservations that are cancelled due to guests not reading this requirement in the listing and not wanting to perform the background screening.

If you request check in less than 48 hours in advance, we will ask for a photo of your Identification matching the method of payment used, and meet you on site for check in to verify your reservation is for the booked guest. (Subject to change. Please message us with questions.)
